T-SQL Tuesday (#14): Resolutions

T-SQL Tuesday

I am hereby joining the TSQL Tuesday, which is being hosted today by the Midnight DBAJen McCown.
Joining the SQL Server community voices of the T-SQL Tuesday idea, i here by declare my 2011 resolutions:

0. Make people happy: I was lucky enough to have discovered very early in my life, that my personal happiness depends on the happiness of those who are close to me. When they are happy - I do feel myself better, when they are smiling - I cant stay down for much time. I am going to be dedicating more of my time to their needs and I am about to bring some serious vicious fun into their lives - and they are not suspecting this ... hehehe :)

In the last couple of days me, Paulo Borges and Miguel Felix have spent quite some time discussing a lot of hot topics about the past year of the SQLPort. We came to a couple of conclusions and we are making some changes and announcements in the next couple of days.

First of all, we are going to publish statistics about SQLPort visitors and members scores ("Member of the Year" program). We are going to explain the system used, and will be open for discussions and suggestions during whole month of January.

Secondly, we are going to award different badges and titles to the most active members and the best presenters, as voted by SQLPort members. ;) Expect the unexpected. haha :D

After that we are about to announce our next events for February and March. These events will be very different, and will possibly have some limitations on the number of participants. Enough to refer, that our 10th event is already set for the March, and using the roman notation as we always did - I am talking about "Event X" ;) The signup to the event X will be provided firstly to our top members.

My name is Niko Neugebauer and I am a Software Designer, who is enjoying creating new stuff and optimizing the existing systems. I am quite passionate about common sense and I do love helping others creating some meaning. What I do not appreciate are lazy angry greedy trolls - they will get no sweets for Halloween from me. :p

So I am starting my blog writing about a lot of differnt things:
- SQL Server
- Design
- Marketing
- Software Development
- Jobs and Recrutment (aka Human Resources)
- SQL Server Community (including PASS)
- other things that i think that are fun writing about. :)

I do love data and analytics, and I do enjoy working with Databases and since every application is all about the data - there is no way to ignore them at all. I have worked with a number of Databases but I do particulary enjoy SQL Server. Yeap, I am a kind of a fan-boy, probably... hahaha :)

I am quite excited about SQL Azure and already set up an account to experiment it - i am looking forward to write about my experiences in the neares feature.

Design - everything we do is a design.
