In the last couple of days me, Paulo Borges and Miguel Felix have spent quite some time discussing a lot of hot topics about the past year of the SQLPort. We came to a couple of conclusions and we are making some changes and announcements in the next couple of days.

First of all, we are going to publish statistics about SQLPort visitors and members scores ("Member of the Year" program). We are going to explain the system used, and will be open for discussions and suggestions during whole month of January.

Secondly, we are going to award different badges and titles to the most active members and the best presenters, as voted by SQLPort members. ;) Expect the unexpected. haha :D

After that we are about to announce our next events for February and March. These events will be very different, and will possibly have some limitations on the number of participants. Enough to refer, that our 10th event is already set for the March, and using the roman notation as we always did - I am talking about "Event X" ;) The signup to the event X will be provided firstly to our top members. ;)

There are some serious restructuring about this site - with some of the changes are to come in effect already this week. We are looking for a hosting sponsor - and already in January looking for potential contacts with the companies which are able to provide us direct access to the computer with possibility to host Drupal 6 and potentially Drupal 7. So far I have no other wishes and needs, since Drupal satisfies our necessities for a community site, and some of the lacking features are resolved by our own custom modules and future integrations (think Wordpress).
